About the Scheme
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) was launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to promote apprenticeship training and to incentivise employers who engage apprentices. Under the scheme, Government of India shares 25% of the prescribed stipend (subject to a maximum of ₹1,500 per month per apprentice) directly to the bank accounts of apprentices through DBT.

How Apprenticeship Works
A streamlined four-step journey from registration to certification.
- 01RegisterSign up as an establishment, candidate, BTP or TPA using Aadhaar-based e-KYC.
- 02MatchEstablishments post vacancies. Candidates apply to designated or optional trades.
- 03ContractSign an apprenticeship contract on the portal — approved by the RDSDE.
- 04CertifyComplete training, appear for AITT, and receive a nationally recognised certificate.
